VIA FERRATA & VIA CORDATA

Explore the cliffs and head up high

A via ferrata is a route carved out along a rock face, fitted with various metal features such as cables, ladders, bridges and zip lines, thereby making it easier for participants to make their way along the route.

Via cordata routes, on the other hand, are equipped with ropes and have fewer metal fixtures, offering an authentic crag climbing experience.

Open to everyone, these activities require no prior experience but do require a certain level of comfort with heights to enjoy the zip lines, abseiling and balance challenges.

A fantastic experience! We went to Le Mas with our four daughters (aged 8 to 14) and had a marvellous afternoon. Eric and Casimir guided us with great enthusiasm and professionalism. They made sure everyone felt at ease, whilst offering a challenge suitable for all ages. The setting is magnificent and makes the experience even more special. Throughout the route, Eric spoke passionately about the region and canyoning, which made this activity a sporting, fun and exciting experience all at once. The team gave us plenty of information about the different options before we set off. They eventually persuaded us to choose Le Mas, and it really was the right choice! Once again, a big thank you for this incredible experience. I highly recommend it to families looking to share a unique and memorable adventure together!

We enjoyed two extraordinary days of canyoning with Eric (the owner). We were a group of three adults and two children aged seven. A brilliant experience! We wanted to introduce our little ones, aged 5 and 8, to canyoning. They loved it (and it was great fun for the parents too!). Éric is a brilliant guide who explains lots about how the canyon was formed and the little creatures we came across along the way. It costs a bit but it’s well worth it! BRILLIANT! Eric is an excellent guide who lives in the area. Safety and teaching are his top priorities. The Mas route is ideal for beginners but also for the most experienced climbers. Abseiling, slides and jumps of 2, 3, 5 and even 10 metres – all optional, so you can skip them if you like – provided plenty of thrills and the chance to push yourself in a great atmosphere; a top-notch descent! Frequently asked questions about canyoning in the Verdon

Are jumps compulsory in canyoning?

No, never. The jumps are always optional, and the guide offers a safe alternative for each section so that everyone can enjoy the activity at their own pace. Only a few of the more challenging canyons, such as Saint-Auban, La Lance or La Siagne, are best suited to those who are comfortable with jumps of 2 to 3 metres. For the other routes, all jumps remain optional.
Is canyoning suitable for children and families?

Yes. We offer tours specially tailored for families, including a Kids Canyon suitable for children aged 4 and over, subject to conditions. Our guides prioritise sunny, less-frequented canyons that are suitable for younger children, so that the whole family can enjoy the experience to the full in a friendly and safe atmosphere.
Where do the canyoning trips take place?

Our trips mainly take place in the Gorges du Verdon, around Castellane, as well as in the Estéron during the summer. Each canyon is chosen based on the weather, water levels, visitor numbers and the best conditions at the time, to ensure you have the best possible experience.
